Memoria Day Weekend, by Tomo

Over the Memorial Day weekend, I really enjoyed having more time to sleep since Im a night owl. It was such a nice change from my usual school schedule. I didnt have any big plans, so I tried to make the weekend productive by going to the gym and studying for the TOIEC, which Im taking in two weeks. At the gym, I focused especially on lower body training because I'm not very good at it and want to improve. For TOEIC preparation, I used practice materials that follow the same format as the actual test and I listened to it, so I could get used to the question types and time management. I thought about going out somewhere, but my roommate was working and couldnt drive, and many stores would be closed for Memorial Day. So instead, I just stayed in the dorm and made the most of the long weekend.

Up until last week, a group of elementary or middle school kids had been on campus for some kind of program, and the dining hall was super crowded. But starting Saturday, the campus finally felt quiet again. That quiet atmosphere made the weekend even more relaxing. Still, I kind of wish I could have gone somewhere. Since I can go outdoors, Id like to go on an overnight camping trip next time―especially while the summer weather is perfect here in Michigan.

Impressions of the East Lansing Art Fair

The American-style food from an American food truck, which was quite expensive and salty for me.         From Dahyeon:       I’d like to tell you something about the East Lansing Art Festival. There are so many things I’d like to share with you, but for now, I just want to tell you three of them.      First of all, I am going to introduce the core of the festival, the booths. There were a variety of booths featuring jewelry, paintings, photographs, and ceramics. There are about 135 booths, so you're likely to find one that suits your taste. In Korea, the main purpose of the artists at the festival is to sell their artworks. However, unlike in Korea, I felt that the artists at this festival had another meaningful goal — to connect and communicate with others. It was truly beautiful to see the artists talking with tourists about their work. If you want to experience meaningful conversations with artists, just come and enjoy t...

My Precious Classmate

Do you remember the first day of this semester? I definitely remember when I met each classmate for the first time. At the beginning of the semester, it was awkward to speak in English with my c My classmate lassmate b ecause they weren't Korean, and most of them were also older than me. However, as time went by, I realized that they are so kind, and I can learn many things by doing activities in our class.    First, some people are not afraid to speak English, so they started conversation naturally to me. For example, Suguru and I usually arrived at school early, and from the start of the semester, he would always initiate conversations in a gentle, non-intimidating way. Even though it was a really simple question, I could develop my English-speaking skills and gain confidence. Thanks to him , my fear of speaking English gradually faded. Now, I can st art a conversation first with my classmate !     Second, when we learned about histroy, and polit...
