Michigan State Capitol

Do you know that each state in the U.S has its own capitol building, unlike in Korea? In Korea, there is only one National Assembly building in the capital, Seoul. However, In the United States, each state has its own state capitol. This is quite an interesting fact to Koreans. So, I would like to explain you about the capitol of Michigan State in two parts: architectural features and political function and role.

The first thing you can see is the exterior of the building. The Michigan State Capitol features a neoclassical exterior with a large dome and elegant design. It makes you think that it looks like a Medieval European building. Then, if you go inside the building, you can see so many sophisticated rooms. The interior of the Michigan State Capitol is organized by a central rotunda, with richly decorated chambers, historic murals, and elegant staircases radiating outward from the center. This kind of interior features ornate 19th-century architecture.

The Michigan State Capitol is where the state’s legislature meets to make and pass laws. Elected representatives discuss and decide the main policy. The building also plays an important role in checking the powers of the governor and other branches of government. It opens to the public to allow citizens to observe and participate in the democratic process. The Capitol stands as a symbol of Michigan’s history and government beyond politics.

If you visit Michigan State Capitol, you can feel luxurious and elegant. Also you can compare the Capitol with your country. It will be very meaningful and helpful to understand other cultures. So I recommend to visit there!!

Impressions of the East Lansing Art Fair

Memorial Day Weekend by Suguru

Today I’d like to tell you about my weekend off , 25 May. First, Sohei and I went to Don Pancho which i s Mexican food shop in Lansing , and we ate some tacos . It was so delicious . A fter that, we visited the cemetery to learn about Memorial Day . When we arrived at there, I was walking around with searching on differences between The USA and Japan.
